News Alert: MLB cancels regular season games as labor negotiations with players union implode
| MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred on Tuesday announced that the first two series of the regular season would be canceled as the MLB lockout, which began in early December, stretches on. Talks between the players union and team owners had picked up in recent days, but by the owner-imposed deadline of 5 p.m. Tuesday, MLB officials decided there had not been enough progress to salvage the planned start to baseball's schedule. Opening Day was originally scheduled for March 31. |
